Genoa is an important seaport in the Province of Genoa, in the northern Italy and of the region of Liguria. The population of the Genoa city is about 620,000 and the urban population is 900,000. The city is also called as ‘la Superba’ [the superb one] du to its glorious history.

In January, 1962, the Fiera di Geneva organized the International Boat Exhibition, as a show which is very small [30,000 square meters] and aimed at a limited people. Since 19666, the exhibition has been launched in co operation with, the Association of Boat industries and shipyards, UCINA, which is also one of the show sponsors. Recognized by the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers [IFBSO], the boat show has developed throughout the 26 editions and became one of the very important shows worldwide.
